So this morning on the prayer line, we decided that everyone should have a chance to say something that they needed prayer on.  I really enjoy praying with like minded individuals and striving to be more like Christ everyday.  For me, it helps me put life in the right perspective.

This morning a man that had been married for 20+ years asked for prayer on his marriage.  He confessed that it was hard.  That although he loved his wife and his children, it was a challenge to communicate, to work together sometimes.  The sacrifice and love necessary to take care of his family sometimes made him forsake his own dreams and desires.  Sometimes feelings of resentment may arise. That spoke volumes to me this morning. The importance of a man to be connected to God to make him more humble.  Another gentleman addresed the issue with this scripture in Phillipians 2. Afterwards we all prayed for him.

Philippians 2:1-5

Imitating Christ’s Humility

1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

I’m a single man.  I want to be married one day, but this is probably the first time that I really understood what humility is all about. To Decrease EVERYTHING in order for GOD to align it all for you.  The man also said that when he does, he  and his wife are able to communicate and God always works it out.  I found comfort in that.  I always look for reconciliation, but I try so hard.  Truth is, God has to do it in his own time. To bring people together and to reconcile the differences in Him.  It takes time.  It takes patience.  And even though you may have thought you messed it up  with your thoughts, words, or actions truth is when/if God brings people together to work out a situation the only result is positive.

The past is history, but today, lets strive to be more humble in our lives.  To allow God to align your motivations, to place others above yourself, and to most of all Trust God in EVERY SITUATION.
